General Information

All of us at the Brain + Spine Center look forward to meeting you. We realize that you didn’t choose to have your problem, and that you would rather not need to see us. We understand that. We are here for you to do everything we can to help you return to wellness.

Many people have questions about a new doctor or practice they haven’t visited before. We hope that many of these are answered in our website. If you have any questions that aren’t answered, please contact us. We want you to feel informed about your experience with us every step of the way.

Our goal is to provide you with stellar customer service. To accomplish that, we are dedicated to doing what we can to eliminate unpleasant surprises and delays throughout your patient experience. Please be aware that your insurance company may require our office to follow certain policies as a part of our participating provider status. In complying with these policies, there can, at times, be delays in scheduling an appointment in a timely manner, or securing pre-authorization for your services. We appreciate your understanding when this occurs and pledge to keep you informed along the way.

Scheduling and Office Hours
For an appointment, call our office at 616.738.4420.
Office hours are:

  • Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and
  • Friday 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Please call us If you need to cancel your appointment or will be late. We will gladly reschedule.

After-Hours Care / Emergencies
For serious medical emergencies, call 911 or proceed immediately to the Emergency Room. For urgent medical needs after hours, call our office to be connected to our answering service. They will contact the on-call physician who will call you back.

Prescription Refills
For your convenience, we accept requests for prescription refills during regular office hours.
Have the following information ready when you call:

  • Your name and number
  • Patient’s name
  • Prescription name and dosage
  • Preferred pharmacy

If you are requesting a new prescription or are a new patient who has not yet been seen in our office, we cannot write a prescription. Please call the office to schedule an appointment.

Test Results
We know that patients are eager to hear the results of their tests. We will contact you by phone or mail, or call to schedule an appointment to review the results with you in person. Depending on the test, results can be available in as little as a few days or may take up to two weeks.
