Testimonials

I had two levels of discs removed in my neck due to spinal stenosis. It’s not a small deal. But I was able to walk from the hospital without a neck brace, took only 4 days off work, worked half days for a week then back to full time. I feel great. The surgery was very successful.

“I couldn’t have asked for better care all the way around. I took minimal pain medication afterwards. The PA, was excellent with all the follow up and communications. I can’t say enough about the care. They have the latest technology, the latest techniques, and very caring hands. Everything was well coordinate. I tell anyone who needs surgery, go see them!

I would rate them A+++

Thanks again for your innovation and skills in making my life pain free. It has only been a month and since the surgery and all my symptoms have subsided. Believe it or not I was actually 90% better by the very next day.

Thanks for giving me my life back. You are direct gift from God.

Sincere Regards,
— SS

Thank you guys so very much for the awesome job you did on my back. I feel so much better. I appreciate how good you guys were on the visits to my hospital room. Your bedside manners were very pleasant and caring. Thank you!

Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you and your staff for the wonderful and caring way that I was treated by your office. I feel so blessed that the outcome was so successful. Words cannot express my gratitude.

I am a very, very satisfied patient. I had a pinched nerve that gave me shooting pains down my back, hip and legs. I couldn’t walk for any length of time. I tried physical therapy, I even tried chiropractic sessions, but nothing helped. Finally my primary care physician referred me your place.

I underwent fusion surgery and had immediate relief. You know there’s a lot of soul searching when you think of having back surgery, but this was wonderful. I was released from the hospital the following day, and I am now back to a very active lifestyle. I can even do my sports. I highly recommend your place and your team.

“I couldn’t walk very far without a great deal of pain in my lower back and feet. It was painful to get out of bed and the first few hours of the day. I couldn’t stand for any period of time. My primary care doctor sent me to various therapists, which were all good, but didn’t get to the root of my problem.

I finally went to see your team, and was diagnosed spinal stenosis. They showed me the MRI on the computer and explained exactly what was going on. I didn’t even have to tell him them symptoms; they told me.

The surgery went off without a hitch, and within 8 hours I was standing without any pain. Amazing, the problem was gone, a total success. The whole procedure, follow up, everything was well orchestrated according to plan. I am very grateful!”

Thank you so much Dr. Lowry. The care and concern and patience you have toward your patients is amazing! Thank you for taking the pain away and giving me back my life.

Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Lowry,

Feb. 15 marked one year since the day you performed surgery on my back. I want to tell you what an outstanding success it has been. I have no pain whatsoever. Absolutely nothing. It’s wonderful. I can walk & stand much as I want to. My calf and hamstring and buttocks muscles cry for relief after 30 minutes on the treadmill but my back is mercifully silent. You gave me my life back. Thank you so very much for the wonderful way you helped me stand and walk again.

This little note is to offer you a tremendous amount of thanks and gratitude for all the help you gave to my son, Steve. When we found out that he had to have the surgery we began praying for God’s choice for our physician. You put us at ease from the start. What a precious gift our Lord has bestowed upon you, and He has not only given you skill but the love & compassion to go along with it. Steve & I are so very, very grateful.

May Gods richest blessings be upon you always,
C&S W

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation of your service and special skills! You can certainly be proud of your expertise!

Thank you,

I want to follow up from our recent hospital meeting to thank you for your care for me and to update you on our progress with treatment for my brain tumor.

Pat & I remain very grateful for you honest, direct, compassionate care when you told us about my tumor. Of course it was not the news we wanted, but your directness and professionalism were what we needed at that moment, as well as you ability to impart hope, and we are grateful.

As you know, we pursued another option at the University of Michigan, where Dr. William Chandler confirmed your probable diagnosis of grade IV glioblastoma and recommended surgery to be followed by radio and then chemotherapies.

We finally decided to seek treatment at the Cleveland Clinic, where Dr. Michael Vogelbaum of the Brain Tumor Institute will perform the surgery on Wednesday this week. Dr. Vogelbaum’s entire practice is devoted to brain tumors. He works in an OR that includes an intra-operative MRI, so that he can get another set of images near the end of the surgery to be sure that he can make an exact resection of the enhancing mass of the tumor. He is confident that the entire tumor can be removed and anticipates a 4-6 operation. And then we will begin as soon as possible on a simultaneous course of radiation and chemotherapy to try to destroy remaining cells.

So your assessment of my situation has been supported twice by doctors in other institutions, and Pat and I feel confident and grateful that you helped us to figure out what we are facing.

Now the challenge is to travel this unexpected journey as well and as far as we can. We have a great community of friends and supporters at Hope and in Holland to help us along the way. I’m personally grateful for your presence in this group.

Gratefully, and with best wishes,
DK

Just a note to express our heartfelt thanks for all that you did for Helen and for all of us. You have rendered a truly beautiful service in your surgical skill, your careful explanation of all that is involved, and your pastoral care toward our family Thank you so much!

Helen has no pain in her left leg. We are very thankful and encouraged. Blessings to you and all your dear ones.

Many thanks and much love,
B&H

Dear David,

Thank you for getting me back in shape for competition this year. Recovery went very well (just too slow) and the first race of the season 2 weeks ago in Clermont went very well.

Thank you!

Dr. Lowry,

This “thanks” long overdue but I still wanted to express my gratitude to you even if months have gone by … I am grateful for all the time you spent with me discussing my meningioma. I left your office feeling very knowledgeable about the situation. The honest information you shared helped me greatly! I wanted to let you know I took you advice and had it removed. I chose to have it done at Spectrum since my daughter had so much going on at DeVos Childrens’s herself, we felt it was easier to keep us in the same building. But again, I am very thankful for all of your help, kindness, and time!

Sincerely,
TE

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you! The news on Thursday on its own was outstanding! However, I also want to thank you for the comfort you provided on a spiritual level as well as professional. May God continue to bless you with the gifts and talents He has given you! Again, thank you so very much!

Bless you!

In His name, love and care,
JR

Dr. Lowry,

I just want to say thank you for what you did for me last week. I know you could have gone about your day, instead you decided to help me. And I know you help people everyday, but for that one decision you have my eternal gratitude and admiration. On behalf of my entire family and myself, thank you!

Dear Staff:

When we discussed the timing of my 4th back surgery, we talked about the July wedding of our second daughter, Andrea, and whether I would be able to recover enough to fully participate.

I was able to walk our daughter down the aisle… it was a beautiful day!

Many thanks to you your staff for all your dedication to my healing; your kindness, skill, and follow-up means a lot to us. We are truly blessed to have you in out lives.

May God continue to bless you, your work, and your families.

Sincerely,
T&I V

Dear Dr. Lowry,

It’s been over a month and my surgery and the painful memories are fortunately fading. Unfortunately, I don’t recall a number of days in the hospital and only have a vague memory of seeing and meeting you across the room! But, I now need to thank you with my most heartfelt feelings for your miraculous surgery on my vertebrate. I am thankful that you, especially, were willing and available and/or made time to help us. It was a late nite, I’m told.

Since the surgery, I’ve mentioned your name with awe to so many people and now realize how lucky I am to have had you perform the surgery. You have touched so many lives, allowing us to resume our normal lives.

Maybe someday I’ll have the opportunity to thank you, in person. Meanwhile, please accept my thanks and gratitude. It’s evident that you have set a tone in your whole office because everyone is compassionate, kind and patient, from Scott Tuinstra to the nurses to the front office.

(And there were several times that I needed that patience because of pain like I have never experienced!)

I know I need to still be vigilant (no weight lifting for a few months) but I am doing great, especially this week!

One last thank you from Bruce. He was/is so very appreciative of your kindness in the hospital & has spoken of that many times.

Thank you,
Gratefully,
FM

Dr. Staff,

Words can’t really express how grateful I am to you that you not only relieved my sciatic pain, but did it remarkably fast. I’m forever thankful for the quality + speed of your care + medical attention. Blessing to you and yours!

Sincerely,
AG

Dear Dr. Lowry,

Thank you so much for your help in my recent back surgery. I deeply appreciate your skill in performing this difficult surgery and am so grateful to be able to live each day without pain. It is like a miracle to me. I believe God has blessed you to be a blessing to many people like myself. Give my thanks also to eachg of your support staff. They are great!

With gratitude,

Dr. Lowry & Scott

Your great care before and after surgery – it means a lot to be Blessed with such care. I am recovering nicely & doing much more than I expected in a short time frame! It’s wonderful knowing my life will be so much better without pain and free of movement. Words cannot express my gratitude.

Dear Mr. Sowders,

I was admitted to Holland Hospital through the emergency department on Sunday June 26, 2016 suffering from severe leg pain. The admission process was quick and Dr. Nicely and nurse Dave were very attentive to my situation realizing I needed admission as an inpatient. Once on the Spine unit Dr. Sak was able to control my pain. All the nurses — Racheal, Meggan, Amy, Lori and Gloria were exceptional in their care. The techs Cat and Sue and even Laura from housekeeping were very attentive to my needs. I required emergency back surgery which Dr. Lowry performed late Tuesday completely relieving the pain that had required fentanyl and phenergan every two hours before surgery. I can’t tell you how impressed my wife and I are with the care we received at your excellent institution. Dr. Lowry is a knowledgeable and skilled surgeon with a great bedside manner who chose a minimally invasive approach to my problem that I really appreciate. Many thanks to everyone.

Sincerely,

PB, M.D.

Dear Staff,

We can’t say enough about you and your staff. You have been such a a blessing.

I had my surgery a little over a year ago and my husband had his about 6 weeks ago. What a difference you have made in our lives. A special thank-you to Elizabeth, Tori, Syndey, and Nita for their awesome care and concern when my husband had his surgery in Holland Hospital.

And you doctors, will always be special to us. May God continue to place his hand in yours in your future surgerys as He did in ours.

Sincerely,

C&E D

Dear Doctors,

When my sister-in-law raved about how she recovered so quickly from both neck and back surgery, thanks to you – I knew after my first meeting with you – I trusted fully in God and felt in my heart that you were a very dedicated doctor and I wanted you to work on my back!

My recovery period has been nothing short of miraculous. The exercise program and pain management has worked out perfectly. I’ve felt the many prayers from family and friends. I thank God for you and your team! I’ve progressed and feel pain-free. I couldn’t have imagined how quickly I’ve recovered. You are in my prayers – God knows your heart, you have a GREAT gift!

Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

AS
